Renewable Energy Music Festival
at the Lake County Fairgrounds

Lake County is known for the cleanest air in the state and bright sunshine. What better place to combine a day of music, comedy and renewable energy education? A newly formed group called the Renewable Hydrogen Alliance (RHA) is sponsoring the RHA Festival 2004 on Sunday, September 26, 2004 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dan Felperin, group founder explains that the majority of Americans appear to support energy independence from fossil fuels. “We seem to be getting ready to transition away from dirty carbon-based fuels like oil and gasoline to a non-polluting (carrier) fuel such as hydrogen.” Hydrogen, the most abundant element in the universe, provides the brightest hope for a clean energy future using fuel cells. The RHA (Festival) was designed to focus the national debate on an expedient transition to renewable hydrogen derived from water.

“This kind of community-based event is a great way to start raising awareness and getting people involved,” according to Felperin. The energetic music venue includes Bill Noteman and the Rockets, southern style rockers Broken Ground, the reggae band Root Stock and the jazzy sounds of the Horse You Rode In On. Laughs and giggles will be provided courtesy of the Pow Wow Comedy Jam Players. In between the entertainment, there will be electric vehicle demonstrations, hydrogen BBQ and the latest photovoltaic (PV) technology on display courtesy of Kyocera Solar.

The festival is being promoted as a fundraiser to convert a gas-guzzling motor home into a zero emission renewable energy lab designed to educate students, teachers, and the (business) community at large. The event offers up a day of family fun under the Lake County sun listening to good music, good humor and spreading community awareness about renewable energy. Tickets are $10 (in advance), $15 at the gate. Children 12 and under get in for free! For more information contact 800-505-3157.
